The Spa Water Recipe Guide: 3 Relaxing Flavored Water Drinks To Make At Home

There is nothing more refreshing than a chilled glass of water infused with herbs, vegetables or fruits. These are the sorts of drinks that they offer you at high end spas to help you relax and stay hydrated during the spa treatments. Not only are spa water drinks highly refreshing, they are also stimulating and are infused with nutritional vitamins that seep out from the fruits or ingredients you mix in. The 4 spa water recipe combinations below can be easily made at home, ideal for your own drinking pleasure or for a dinner party (the colorful ingredients floating in the water act as a decorative element at a party).

There is so much to choose from when looking at ingredients to make spa water drinks. You have fruits, vegetables, and herbs, as well as oil extracts such as vanilla. Just like aromatherapy, you can choose what to infuse the water with based on what feelings you want to create. For example rose water is relaxing, while lemon or peppermint spa water recipes are energy boosting, and ginger can be used for detoxing.

    • Relaxing: Rose, and Lavender, Chamomile,
    • Energy Boost: Ginger, Peppermint, Jasmine, Lemon or Basil
    • Detox: Ginger or Rosemary

These can all be mixed and matched to make unique infused water recipes. Here are four examples:

Bali Living: Lemon, cucumber and sprigs of mint and rosemary

Topical Breeze: Slices of lemon, lime, grapefruit, and orange, with mint leaves

Seaside Peace: Slices of watermelon, pineapple, and lime

Pineapple Zen: Mint sprigs, sliced ginger and pineapple

Waterfall: Orange, mint, and cucumber

The longer the ingredients soak in the water the better. It would be best to leave a jug of the spa water concoction over night for the ingredients to infuse properly with the water. Not all fruits work well. Some fruits will break apart if they are soaked in the water for too long. Mangoes are one example.

Flavored water recipes are really just experiments with different fruits, vegetables and herbs. You can mix and match the ingredients to your own taste.
